Вопрос: Concerns shopping centre development may be delayed as part of ongoing consultation

Lansdowne Development has confirmed that it has not received an application for planning permission to construct a 400 car garage at its development at 447 Spring St (the parking lot next to the shopping centre).

This development will be one of a number of proposed new car garages built by the development at Spring St in recent years.

A spokesperson told us: "Lansdowne Development has not received an application for planning permission to construct a 400 car garage at this site."

Lansdowne Development will not respond to requests for comment made via the company website.

Lansdowne has recently undertaken an engineering study of this car garage proposal, which it has not published yet.

The area's planning rules state that "wheels and suspension systems should meet the standards prescribed by national standards when building a multi-storey car park".

As for the car park itself, "it should be appropriate for the use of the residents", the company's statement says.

More surgery delays opposition push

There are already concerns that another complication could follow for voters on Election Day in Florida, where a botched brain surgery was ruled the cause of the election's surprise win for President Donald Trump.

The Republican Party of Florida called for Gov. Rick Scott to resign before he leaves office Tuesday, saying in a statement that he is "not doing a good enough job."

"It is clear that Governor Rick Scott's administration does not live up to the great work and vision that was presented to voters during his first weeks in office," the GOP of Florida said, adding that "there is no reason to keep Governor Scott in office and there is no reason for anyone in Florida to give this governor a chance."

Republican President Donald Trump waves to the crowd as he arrives at a Donald Trump rally at the Palm Beach International Airport, Sunday, Jan. 24, 2017, in West Palm Beach, Fla. Trump won the battleground state by about 5 percentage points, but Democrats said that could not be attributed solely to Trump's success. AP

In Georgia, where Trump was leading all Republicans among registered voters in early voting, the Republican Party of Georgia urged him not to run again, saying he is "not fit to serve" and that Republicans need to find a viable nominee who can win "without having to work with the Clinton campaign."

Polls conducted prior to Sunday indicated that Trump was within single digits in Georgia, leading Sen. Johnny Isakson. Democrats have also said it's highly unlikely that he'll win Georgia.

With some counties reporting only the last four days of early voting, many analysts said that could shift the momentum in Florida and the battleground states to the Republicans, but Democratic party leaders say it would hurt.

"To just be thrown out now at this point and that we have more than a dozen states left that we're going to see Trump win, I think that is quite a serious loss," said Virginia Democratic Party Chairman Jaime Harrison, adding that she expects Trump will not win Georgia and Florida on Nov. 8 and, in addition, won't have to work on the election in North Carolina after the election, which could also be close.
