Mothers appeal over bushfire arsonist found dead

Five people involved in an arson attack which killed a woman last month have appealed for the public's help.

The 33-year-old woman was found with injuries to her head and neck outside her home in the Mount Pleasant-Trenton area of Melbourne.

Four men and the mother of the woman had taken their vehicle and attempted to ignite a propane tank.

One of the men escaped when firefighters were alerted and was arrested as he attempted to flee the scene.

The man is charged with attempted murder.

A third man who may have helped the man escape has been arrested after police say they also discovered evidence of the attack.

Police allege that the two are linked and detectives believe there is an established relationship between the two men.
